Christmas Activity with ECD and PPCD Students

Hermes Elementary School

Monday, December 14, 2009

On December 14, 2009, Anchor members participated in the Christmas Cheer project in which they interacted with students in the Early Childhood Development program, the Special Education program, and the Special Education, Contained, with Disabilities Program of the La Grange ISD.

A morning session was hosted where 70 students were treated to some holiday fun.  Anchors helped the eager students decorate Christmas cookies and make photo frames for their souvenir picture with Santa who arrived to hear the children’s wish list and to give them each a Christmas pencil and whistle.

Anchors were able to visit with the children as they decorated sheets with drawings of Christmas trees and candy canes, and then  of course, kiddos, young and old alike, shared the decorated holiday cookies and punch.

This particular Christmas activity is in its 9th year with the Anchor Club of La Grange. We are thrilled to have the chance to touch these special needs children – it’s truly a brain-related disorders focus project  that is very well received and eagerly anticipated by teachers, administration, students, and ANCHORS!

Each December, it’s the activity that gets all of our Anchor members into the Christmas Spirit – the true Christmas spirit of sharing.
